Can i use a 1984 honda cr 125 piston in my 1988 honda cr 125r?

You can try as this is shade tree mechanics at it's best...

Just make sure the piston slides down the cylinder without a lot of side to side play and that the connecting rod pin fits the piston you want to use...

then I would mix the gas/oil a little rich during initial start up
