Default 1994 Honda Accord Mods/Upgrades?

Hi,

My dad's friend gave me a car, so now I have a 1994 honda accord lx white. I was wondering what I can do to spiff it up. I was thinking of sanding it down, then getting a cheap-o paint job at MAACO, getting a short air intake, performance muffler, a little amp plus 4 speakers, maybe some 16 inch rims down the line too. I have around 1k to spend, maybe a little more. can anyone give me some tips on what to buy/ where/ what else I can do (for performance or look) etc.?

thanks

With that much money, you wont be able to gain any "performance." A nice Cold Air intake and a full exhaust system such as DC, Apexi, Spoon, etc, will give you max 15hp to the wheels. If you just want a decent looking car, get it lowered on coilovers, a fresh paint job, tint the windows throw some white 16" rims on, JDM style black housing headlights, mugen style grill and you should be satisfied. But if you want that accord to be fast you need a JDM H22A under the hood!

Proper Coilovers will run you about $1000 for a non-garbage brand such as Stance. Intake & exhaust is pointless because the car has no power to start with. It's an Accord, not a S2000 or NSX, and was made to be economical and comfortable to drive, not fast.

Your best option is to save that $1000 towards keeping it running well and not trying to be a ricer d-bag. A decent headunit would be the only exception and I wouldn't spend more than $200 on it. Only get speakers if yours are shot.

Having extensively modified my 1987 Mazda RX-7, doing every single item with my own two hands, I speak from experience.

you can upgrade to 1997 by replacing the tail lamp which you can get it from junk yard.
