Default Automatic Transmission Problems?

My car (1998 Honda Accord 3.0L V6) will shift into reverse but it feels like its just Slipping and wont move, almost like it is in neutral, the same is true when in drive except it only has second gear and when I stop and go to accelerate again it just slips unless i manually put it in second gear.

Could it be a sensor?

Torque Converter?

Does the transmission need a rebuild?

I checked the solenoids and they seem okay and aren't seized.

i would say you need to rebuild your transmission however there could be several things you have to do to it. just take it into the shop and get a quote. keep in mind this could get real expensive and you might be better off getting another car and scrapping it. hope everything works out for you
