Default My new Honda CR-Z paintwork is poor?

My new Honda CR-Z is showing chips in bonnet, wings, and front spoiler first noticed and reported after 3 weeks ownership but I was informed that they were stone chips and Honda's guarantee does not cover stone chips.I previously owned a black 08 reg Honda Civic and this was peppered all over bonnet, wings, doors when I sold it. I did think that because Honda had so many complaints about the Civic paintwork and this car is 3 years newer that together with Honda's technology the paintwork would have improved but alas I was wrong.

I know that this poor durability is due to Honda using water based paint but other manufacturer's seem to have overcome the problem why not Honda?

I have been told to have a paint film protection applied to the car but why should I have to pay a further 500-1000 when the car is new and Honda know they have problems. Any suggestions?

This problem is based on outside factors such as where and what types of roads you drive on that is why Honda doesn't cover it. Also another thing to keep in mind is parking your car where people use leaf blowers. I noticed my windshield was getting pitted really bad and realized it was from a landscaper using a leaf blower to clean up the debris around my parking space.
