Could be an oil leak or burning the oil. Check under the engine and on the side to see if you can notice any oil stains. If you can't seem to find any have it looked at by a mechanic.

Not necessarily the problem, but when I was active in Honda forums in the early 2000s there were a number of threads started by people who had low mileage nearly new Hondas that were suddenly consuming a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Most got the cold shoulder from their dealers but one dealer service department tore one of the engines down and found a broken compression ring that didn't show up on a compression test. Whether that was the problem with the other engines, or not, is anybody's guess. Ditto on whether it applies to your CR-V, especially since the top suspect in the broken rings is an excessively tight fit (inadequate end gap in the ring) and that becomes a lessening problem as the ring wears. Every .001 the ring wears off the edge is a .003 gap increase.

In short, I don't know much to do about it. You can try replacing the PCV valve (those can let a lot of oil into the intake and deserve replacement every few years on general principles) and using Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner, available at Dodge dealers for $6 (see the first source for details and the second source for testimonials from Chevy enthusiasts), which may help, can't hurt.
