Default Honda civic 1997, where to pour the break fluid...?

seems like my car need some break fluid, i looked but i was not sure where to pour it, how does it look like? I dont have the manual and i dont want to mess up... thanks

Why does it seem like it need some brake fluid. If the brake pedal seems soft, adding brake fluid won't fix it.

well to get it perfect of course bring it into the shop.















but if you want to do it yourself then here ya go















from looking at pictures of engines of your car i can see that most of them have the brake fluid container opening on the upper right corner of the engine. it will be a plastic container that looks similar to this http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-p...ter-brake1.htm (the second picture). and the cap should say brake fluid but some don't.















also the color of the fluid should be clearesh yellow if it is good and if it is more brown then it should be changed, meaning drained and refilled with new















to fill up your brake fluid level just un screw the visable cap and poor up to the full line. hope this helps

the brake master cylinder is mounted to the brake booster on the firewall on the driver side

My practice is never to add brake fluid except when servicing the brakes. There are only two reasons for the fluid to be low: the pads are worn or there is a leak. Both conditions require repair to keep bad things from happening.
