Default Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 or Michelin XIce Xi2?

Hi,

I live in Toronto. I commute about 25-30K per year. I have a brand new 2012 Honda Civic LX 4 Dr. My tires are 195/65/15.

I'm torn between two kinds of Winter Tires.

Both are highly recommended: http://www.apa.ca/WinterTires2011-PassengerCars.asp

At Costco, I'll be paying: $820 for the Blizzak or $856 for XICE - both include the price of Rims. So the price difference is a non-issue.

My Honda Dealer says the Blizzak are better. The guy at Costco says the XIce are better.

What do you think?

I have had both brand named tires and both are excellent. if I had to choose one without consideration of money, I would by Michelin, but generally I always by Bridgestone tires.

We have Blizzaks for my wife's 2002 Prius and X-ice for mine. I really can't tell the difference in the way they handle.

Depends on how you define "better" since each is better at different things. Perhaps this will help.
