Default How successful will a Honda Fit be when driving in the mountains?

I live in Florida and am planning on moving out of state. I'm considering selling my 2009 Honda Fit for an SUV that will be better equipped to deal with harsher weather and steeper inclines - my Honda has 116 HP and front wheel drive. I'm concerned that on icy roads, it won't be heavy or powerful enough to handle well.

Shouldn't be an issue. Invest in a good set of snow tires for winter driving.

uh... weight does not improve handling , even on ice. Actually more weight is more momentum

I would suggest a vehicle that has 2 wheel drive and four wheel drive options, or an all 4x4

I know the older model of blazer has 2 and 4 wheel drive (you can turn on 4x4)

A jeep is always a good choice for anything 4x4

And a ford ranger is another smaller vehicle that can have 4x4

Basically you want a medium to small 4x4 truck or suv. Not large.

In snow and ice a fit will just spin the tire a little bit, as does my toyota matrix. But my old blazer loved the snow.
