Default are all 205/40/17 tires low profile?

i bought some rims and i need to buy two tires for them, they are size 205/40/17. they are thin tires , and i wanted to know if i bought them from tirerack.com will they be exactly the same size with and everything?

Yes (P205/40R17)















205 millimeters = 205mm / 25.4 = 8.07" width































40 millimeters = The height of one sidewall.















205mm x 0.45 = 92.25mm















8.07" x 0.45 = 3.63" height































17 = Is the diameter of the wheel in inches.















17" x 25.4 = 431.8mm































The R = Radial construction tire body plies.















The P = "P-metric" primarily used as passenger vehicles.
