For performance and looks and coolness factor you want the acura rx

But for price, practicality, availability, and gas mileage you want that civic

It is actually getting harder to find the rsx's (especially the type s)and lower mileage ones are hard to come by. There are plenty of decent civics, readily available out there, so you get more options to fit what you want and what you can pay for.

It is up to you and what your needs are.

Mainly though if you just need to go places or travel at any point in time, the civic is the better choice. The civic will also last forever.. unlike the acura

2006 Honda Civic Si:

Horsepower: 197 @ 7800

Torque: 139 @ 6100

Redline (rpm): 8000

Curb Weight: 2877lbs

Mileage: 23/32

Weight Distribution (%, front/rear): 61/39

2006 Acura RSX Type-S:

Horsepower: 201 @ 7800

Torque: 140 @ 7000

Redline (rpm): 8100

Curb Weight: 2840lbs

Mileage: 23/31

Weight Distribution (%, front/rear): 61/39

These stats are from Honda.com

ACURA. More horsepower and torque at a higher rpm (how fast engine spins) and less weight (-37)

The only advantages to the Honda is that has a slightly higher highway mileage.

I personally like both cars.. Acura RSX seems to be a little less common than the Civic, which makes it pretty cool, but I don't think you can go wrong with either, considering its a very similar platform and powertrain and they're both a Honda underneath the skin and Hondas rock. Acura RSX probably would be more comfortable and luxurious, but Civic provides a bit more room in the back. Like I said though both solid options.

they are nearly identical cars, 02-05 rsx type s has k20a2 in it, which makes 200hp and 140tq, the 06 rsx type s has a k20z1 engine in it, and was rated at 210 hp, but it think it got downgraded to like 201hp, the 06-11 civic si has a k20z3 engine in it which makes 197hp and 139 tq. the cars are nearly even when it comes to weight, your main differences are going to be the rsx type s is a drive by cable style car, where as the civic si is a drive by wire style, it debateable which ones better in that sense, the civic si however, does have a helical limited slip differential which helps with hard cornering and launch... i drive an 08 civic si, i love it, its alot of fun to drive, i love the rsx type s as well, i ean honestly, you line these 2 cars next to each other, both 100% stock, or comparably modded, its straight up a drivers race. the cars are damn near the same thing. basically. id break it down to, which one do you like the interior and exterior more on. another factor you could use, is availability and mileage, idk, good luck finding an rsx type s thats not murdered or with hella miles, where as the Si, i know you can still find them stock, and with good mileage, i got mine used a year aog with 34k miles, ive seen them with less to. hell ya never know, you may be able to go get the 2011s from the dealership for a steal since the 2012 is out now
