Depends on how much money you have, what you want, and what is available. Honda's are generally great cars and the prelude looks nice. Not a spacious backseat, if that is important , Not good for four by fouring, if that is important. Not a muscle car , if that is important. And it is 12 years old. But a good car.

A prelude is a fine car but it isn't exactly a jack-of-all trades. It can be quite cramped inside and luggage space isn't exactly cavernous. Plus believe it or not it is quite heavy for its size. Unlike the civic which has a large strong unibody shell, the prelude has quite a bit of steel reinforcements in it to strengthen it. Any time you cut the roof off the result is that the floor is the only thing holding the car together. So this added weight makes it a little slow and a little less efficient. If you like the looks enough to justify the short comings then by all means get it. It's still a Honda so it is quite reliable and a year 2000 model would have been one of the last made so it could prove to be quite a collectable. Good luck.
