Default This person I just met has a 1996 Honda Civic 1.6L, why won't it start?

It has been getting harder and harder to start they said. Once it starts it runs fine. I'm thinking really worn out spark plugs. What do you think?

When it turns over, it sounds like it wants to start, it fires a bit when you play with the gas pedal, but not enough to run on its own.

Odds are it is the main relay (fuel pump relay). It is one of the most common problems with that era Honda, although the ignition switch could be the problem as well. See the first two sources for the details and tests. None of the other common problems let the car run okay once started.
