Default Is a 2006 honda civic si coupe a good car for modding?

How is the suspention on the si, if, I drop it and maybe add some sway bars, can it be driven hard, without messing up the suspention? I mean is it like a 350z or more like an accord, an accords suspension will get screwed up but a 350z's wont. I wont kill the car, but go into turns fast, e brake it. And peel out, will the drivetrain handle that(axeles, tranny, bearings?) Even though its a high compretion engine I know people add boost. Can I get like around 300 whp and not mess with the engine, like bolt ons? How much boost will I need? How much is it, and what would my mpg's look like? and what would be the cheapest way to achieve that? Thanks, maybe some of u guys did this and would like some input. Thanks!!!

yes there are a lot of engine and styling and hanling parts for the si as its the next model down from the type r, have fun but remember hondas twinks are known for snapping cams because of lazy maintenance and they have super thin oil galleries

First off - I have a 2008 Si coupe. Same as the 2006.

It has suspension closer to a 350Z but a 350z will easily kill an Si. The LSD on the Si is great, you can be very aggressive in turns without fear of uncontrollable understeer. You will only get to 300hp by either adding a supercharger or turbocharger. It can handle 12 pounds boost no problem which is more than enough to get over 300 wheel horsepower.

My Si motor is stock, the mods I have done are suspension only. I get 32 mpg with no problem at all. If I go into VTEC (over 5800 RPMs) all the time, it drops considerably. The car redlines at 8000 RPMs. Its a screamer. I run 14.9 second quarter miles, again - stock motor.

You should be able to pick up an Si coupe used for under 14000 easily.

Know this - The Si Coupe is ONLY available in the USA and Canada. Japan DOES NOT have the Si Coupe, only the Si sedan. Therefore, the Si Sedan has WAAAAAY more parts for modding - especially in regards to exterior and interior modifications. However, the coupe and sedan are different ONLY in their body style. The motor, transmission, etc etc etc are all identical. So a motor part for the sedan is more than likely going to work for the coupe.

Hope that helps.
