Default How much would it cost to convert automatic transmission to manual?

I have a 93 civic ex and want to know how much it would cost to convert from automatic to manual(5speed). I need to know how much it would cost to buy all the parts. I will install it myself.

Sorry it is next to impossible to change the transmission or better said the amount it would costs you, you would be better off trading your 1993 Honda Civic EX for a comparable vehicle with manual transmission.

If I were in your shoes and driving an 18 year old vehicle, I would just want to drive and continue doing oil changes every 5,000 miles, draining the ATF fluid every 25 to 30K because if you invest too much money into an older car, well unfortunately they don't last forever and when something major goes wrong and your car begins giving trouble frequently, then it's time to cut the losses and say goodbye. Hopefully, the extra money you saved by not fixing up an older car could help toward buying some new fresh wheels.

Ypu wwould get your best deal on a vehicle with manual transmission if you patiently searched like Craigslist and had money already put away for a downpayment in addition to being prequalified for an auto loan at your credit union.

Then you are in possession of a newer vehicle with manual transmission, whatever extra money you are able to save after paying your monthly car loan and other bills, slowly you can decide how you want to jazz and upgrade it.

Best of Luck and Hope the Info Helps You See Other Views on where things might be for you 5 years down the road...

Prince, you really need to get a hold of some local auto mechanics around in your area and ask for a free estimate. With that said, the following site has a small auto section where they offer great, resourceful information, which I would think would assist you in your efforts:

Yeah, so I hope the above link is helpful. Good luck!

The Internet. Just whatever is available online and what I have on my mind, including the inclusion of relevant sites, like the one cited that came into existence with my creative development, which is intended to be useful. Helping people get the relevant info they want is great.
