It has to be done by an automotive locksmith or the dealer. Honda has not used owner-programmable keys since... ever, as far as I know.

The key is programmed into the Immobilizer system using the Honda diagnostic system. I am not sure what a locksmith would do. Our dealership charges .3 hours to program the key.

Hello Dennis, for your problem the solution could be that you program your Honda civic either by using MVP ,Tcode,or some other programming. You can also go to the dealer and ask for help if the problem is not yet solved.

i think maybe you need a key programmer to make a new key.
or there is something wrong with your car door?
then you can use a locksmith tool to do it.
why not have a look at on obdii.fr
