Default Is getting a sunroof installed a safe investment?

I just bought a 2008 honda civic coupe, but it doesnt have a sunroof. I want one in that car, and I know people install them, but the only time I've really heard of people doing that, its been complaints because it leaks or something is wrong with it. Are they ok to get installed? And about how much price wise will I be looking at? Rough estimate.

I wouldnt do it they almost asways leak. Cost wise I dont kno but not cheap at all. I mean if you really REALLY want the sun roof trade it in but I dont see the point in going through all that trouble just for a sun roof. I have one and yes they are nice but like I said IT LEAKES!. I have to park at a upward angle everytime it rains so it doesnt leak in and when the snow would melt on top of my car in winter it would also leak in so I always had to take the snow off the roof. Plus as stupied as it sounds some people dont like sun roofs so you could lower the value of your car

I am in the same situation. I bought a new coupe and apparently if you want a sunroof you also have to get automatic trans which i didnt want. I would say getting a sunroof installed would cost anywhere from about $700 to $1500, depending where you go and what you want. I decided against it due to both the cost, and the fact that I don't want to run the risk of leaks ruining my interior. I guess maybe just wait til you get a new car and try to get one with a moonroof. Sucks to not have one, since they make your interior feel a bit more roomy, but oh well, life goes on.
