Unhappy 1989 Honda Accord has starting issues warm weather!!!

I have a 1989 Accord, carbureted, that is extremely difficult (about 15-20 seconds of cranking) to start up after being ran in warm weather. And it's sorta difficult to start when cold also. This is a that started as the summer temps climed into the 90's and started back up about a week ago. I pulled the air cleaner off and looked down the carb throats and I could smell a heavy fuel smell, as if it continues to supply fuel to the engine. This issue happens after it's been sitting for a few minutes, and will last until the next day. Putting the pedal to the floor during cranking helps it start sooner. The vacuum lines stuff are a pain on this and I am afraid I have a problem with some of the parts they connect to such as solonoids, etc. Any suggestions? It did this last summer too and it's driving me nuts! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
