My personal opinion is stay away from all that junk, all major fuel brands have detergents in them already.

Don't put fuel additive in the car. It is a waste of money. All fuel must meet the minimun federal standards. As for auto manufacturers such as GM, Honda, Toyota, BMW, and VW, they created their own standards. Their standards are much higher than the government-such as higher detergent level and emission control chemicals. It is called Top Tier 5 . The company that I know part of Top Tier 5 is Shell. So, if you want to keep your engine clean - don't I repeat don't put anything that is not recommended by manufacturer - just use fuel that is from the Top Tier 5 (higher standards).

The best fuel additive is the Techron brand. Others are imitations. But none of them are going to help you gain more horsepower.
