This is actually somewhat of a complex question to answer. Reason being, there are a multitude of possible reasons for low gas mileage on a fuel-injected engine. I'll give you a short list here, as these are most-commonly found to cause high fuel consumption.

Air Filter (Clean or Replace)

Fuel Filter (Replace)

Spark Plugs (Replace)

Spark Plug Wires (Replace)

Ignition (Replace)

Fuel Injectors (Replace)

Oil/Oil Filter (Replace)

Fuel Pump (Replace)

Under/Above Inflated Tires

Incorrect Tire Balancing/Alignment

The above is a short list of items which should be inspected and/or replaced with regularity, some more often than others. Also, remember that things such as running the air conditioner on a constant basis or driving in cities with stop and go traffic, will also increase your vehicle's fuel consumption. Good luck in all of your gas endeavors!
