Default D16y5 OR D16y8: which is better?

okay, so I'm pretty much a noob. I just have a simple question:















Which is the better engine? In respects to speed, power, mpg, hp, etc...















ps: on a 98 honda civic ex.

y8. The ex should already come with a y8 from the factory,

d16y8--speed, power, hp--ex motor (top of line single cam vtec motor)















d16y5--mpg--hx motor (economy vtec motor for fuel effenciency)

the y8 is the stock ex motor, and it is the better of the 2. the y5 is for mpg, not power.
