Default Why won't any burned cds play in my Honda Civic?

None of them play, ever! :/ Is there some way that I can format the cds to play in the car?

You might be burning them as data discs rather than audio. If you use burning software make sure you choose "audio cd", or burn using Windows Media Player.

Your CD player is probably not MP3 compatible.

On the newer units, it will have an "MP3" or "CD/RW" label posted on it, which denotes its compatibility with burned discs.

If you have an older Honda Civic or head unit, it will probably not accept burned discs. What you should do is consult the owner's manual for your car, or the unit if it's aftermarket. If it's the factory unit, get an aftermarket one. But ascertain that it is MP3 compatible first. Most new ones are.

Some CD players won't play anything other than commercially-made CDs.

The dye that makes recordable CDs recordable makes them

only about 25% as reflective as commercial CDs.

The only remedy is to replace the CD player

with one that can play recordable discs.

This is true and also a common mistake. By default, the CD burner in windows player ( a common media player pre-installed into most computers). In the upper right corner of the player screen, there is a drop down file which allows you to choose between a data CD or audio CD. Make sure the dot or check mark is next to audio CD. Hope that works for you!
