Default Changing transmission fluid on an Automatic Honda Accord 94?

This might be a stupid question, but is the transmission fluid drain bolt a lefty loosey righty tighty type of bolt looking straight at the bolt on the passenger side?

Thanks!

I've done transmission fluid changes before on different cars and this is my first honda! I just wanted to be sure!

It's a standard right hand thread - lefty loosey. It gets remarkably tight seemingly on its own (the torque is only 36 ft-lb) and I resort to an impact wrench to remove it. A breaker bar will do the job too. Once you break it loose it comes right out.

Fluid changes every 30K miles are recommended, using only genuine Honda ATF-Z1. Dexron will not damage it but the transmission will shift roughly. The fluid in the torque converter is not changed each time so it will take a few changes to get it all changed. You probably already know the filter is not field replacable and the transmission should never be flushed.

Finally, the owner's manual warns to always come to a complete stop before shifting from forward to reverse or reverse to forward. Failure to observe that is one of the most common reasons for failure of that otherwise rugged transmission.
