b18 is a non-vtec, but cheaper and better for boost.

Keep in mind, there's a few different types of b18's:

B18b = 140hp 6800rpm redline

b18c1 = 170hp 8200rpm

b18c5 = 190 8400rpm

b16b = 160hp 8200 rpm

The "B" stands for the engine family

The "XX" (numbers stand for the engine size or sum of all the cylinders in liters) so 16 = 1.6L and 18 = 1.8L

The B16A1 does have vtec... it was available in the 90-91 JDM civic/crx sir

The B16A2 does have vtec.... it's from a 99-00 civic si
