Default what are those rings on the back of honda civic's for?

you know the ones that come off where you'd put a hitch and they are often seen on the tricked out si's. what is the purpose of them? does it have to do with drag racing?

Tow hooks, if you wreck the car a tow truck can hook a winch to it to pull you out of -wherever- you crashed your grocery getter thinking it was some kind of race car.

yeah, they're tow hooks. I don;t really see much of a use for them other than towing and aesthetics.

I guess it's just a trend.

I still want one though xD

Yes they are tow hooks and most typically used for race cars. But when your car is as low as most imports are its hard to hook on and get your car on a tow truck without damaging your car and or its undercarriage. So the hooks are actually functional on a lot of imports. Except for the autozone special bat mobiles that give us import lovers a bad name.

I used to have to pull my front lip and use wood boards just to get mine on a flat bed. Thats why I called it da lo low!lol
