Default 1996 honda accord ex problem?

My accord is an automatic and does not shift out of parking and i do step on the brake too . i have to manually shift it out using my keys. when the accord do drive, 1st gear go all the way at 4000 - 5000 rpm, 2nd gear go to 4000 rpm and 3rd gear does not go to 4 gear at all. thats not normal right? what could be the problem. i have already replace the shift solenoid on the tranmission, check the brake light switch and use another shift interlock. is there something big wrong with my transmission?

There a few problems that cause the shifter not to come out of park...but not to many that will not cause shifting problems lets start with the basics first...make sure the brake lights come on when you you step on the brake pedal...if the lights come on...next you might want to check the computer for codes. My guess is that you will find a throttle position sensor code and this will make the transmission shift at high rpm and will not allow the car to come out of park. The reason for this is that the transmission control unit has no idea if your foot is wide open throttle or at idle and will not let you shift out of park and has no idea how to shift because no throttle position reading...the next is the cable that comes from the throttle body down to the transmission. The proper way to adjust the cable is it should be loose until the throttle is slightly moved then the lever on the side of the transmission should start to move...a lot of times the lever on the side of the transmission gets stuck an causes a hard shift. Make nessary Repairs and the transmission should start shifting properly but I have never seen the cable not let the shifter come out of park.
