Default Why do people put bike racks on their Hondas?

. . . but never actually have bikes? I'm not much of a Honda guy, but I see it everyday. A nice looking Honda, well put together, nice rims, clean paint job, sounds great. Then WTF? . . . . A bike rack?

@j_espinoza2008 You must be a Honda guy. And to answer your question, I try not to associate myself with them.

for looks I guess, my friend has one on his Honda Accord, every one thinks it looks stupid but he thinks it looks cool.

I am a cyclist and I have a bike rack, I only use it when I ACTUALLY USE MY BIKE, otherwise I take it off for unnecessary wind resistance.

Honestly, its worse where I live, I've seen bike racks on BMW M3s. E46 and no I am not joking.

Because you dont leave a $2000.00 bike attached to your car for people to steal. duh. Ever notice how many cars have TOW HITCHES but arent pulling a trailer? You must be simpleminded or something

Adding a bike rack often gives a JDM look or "Japanese Domestic Market". It's for the looks only and it gives the car a utilitarian look. If you noticed most of those roof racks are made by the company: Yakima. This company is based out of Japan. However more Americans these days buy them from other manufacturers such as Thule.
