Default Buying a used 1992 Honda Civic EX-V?

Hi,

I'm looking at a 92 Honda Civic EX-V with 220,000 km on it.

It's fully loaded and comes with a set of snow tires.

The only bad thing is a small dent on the hood.

Otherwise, it sounds good.

I'll be going to see it and test drive it to a mechanic.

The price of it is $2250, is that a good deal?

Does anybody know anything about the EX-V line?

I've heard very good things about Hondas so I have been looking specifically for a Honda

Hondas are good but it's also from 92 in my opinion way over priced. However 220k is not that much

Civics from this era are lightly built cars with a host of issues that will nickle and dime you into the ground. They were well designed and fairly well built but...to a price point. The electrical on these cars was especially problematic and if I were considering a civic of this vintage I'd stay well clear of electrical options (ie. fully loaded will mean headache). 220km is not bad if the car has been cared for but....if it's been driven hard the tranny could be an issue and if fluids have been neglected the engine could go? Has the timing belt been changed at the 200k mark? If that goes on a civic the engine is DONE!

For that price I would look for a 96 to 99 civic. They are much improved over the previous version.

You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carquotes.sinfree.net
