Most people who do swaps go b series. Try looking for a b18c. B,D and I think H series are the only engines that will bolt right in without having to modify the engine mounts. If your looking for a good cheap swap. Buy a d series dohc(yes they have em cause I owned one) or just throw in a d16 with VTEC or turbo. H series engines are pretty weak, so if you dont tune them %100 they will crap out on ya. Do some research, look at what's out there, endless possibilities. If you Wana go all out, throw a k series in haha. If your hatch is clean, throw a swap in that. Pick the best car that you Wana build off of and make it nice

Any engine will go in but for the least hassle go for a D16 with Vtec. Any other will need mounts & more also don't use a D15 as they have weaker rods.

Whether you go for a manual is up to you but you will need the right manual ECU for that engine. Join some of the many forums out there and get some ideas together. If you are considering all this you may as well go all the way and fit a turbo too. I did it to mine, and it's auto.

i like the h22s they have a lot of horsepower and nice amount of torque. and you can put things like turbos if you upgrade to somethin like that cause they have specific ones for diff types of honda motors
