Default What's the difference between Donuts and Honda Steelies?

Can you go faster on Steelies than donuts?Or are they the same thing?

The difference is the width of the wheel itself. Donuts are for emergency purpose and have a very narrow wheel. The factory steelies have wider wheels which allow for wider tires. Donuts in general have cheap rubber tires and thus limited to low speeds before you start deteriorating the tire itself and basically self destruct it due to the heat generated by the rotating tire. The factory steelies usually come with decent tires that allow you to go at higher speeds without the tire deteriorating due to heat.

Donutes are spare tires only intended for short-term low speed use.

Honda Steel rims are just the stock rims.

Wheel weight isn't gonna make any kind of power performance gain you will feel. Only traction/grip but that's more affected by rim width and tire.

Look into lightweight aftermarket rims.
