Default Loss of RPM's, almost stalls and car wont go

Hey everyone,

I'm kinda at a loss because my mechanic cant duplicate the error I'm getting, and he says no code is being generated. If anyone know has any insite it would be greatly appreciated.

When the car is cold I can drive it for about 5-10 minutes to get coffee. When I restart the car it boggs down when I hit the gas. I have to pull the car over and wait a couple of minutes before I can drive again. During this waiting time, if I put the car in neutral and put my foot on the gas there is no reaction. I know I can drive the car again once it starts reacting to me pushing on the gas pedal. I want to say there is something wrong fuel wise but I tried adding a fuel cleaner and that didnt do anything either. Its the weirdest problem.

The car is a 2001 Honda Civic EX. Its has about 175K miles on it. One owner(me) and it has had regular maintence on it. I recently started to put Synthetic oil in the car. Could this be the problem?

If you could e-mail or reply with your thoughts. I could use a couple more heads here.
