It depends on what you're looking for. If you want something compact, good on gas and can fit just about anywhere, then get the Honda Fit. If you need more room for putting stuff, have more passengers (especially tall ones!) and want a sportier/cooler look, then you should consider the Honda Civic. Either way, they're both great cars.

I think the fit is the better car, I think the interior is set up better, depending on if its an auto or standard, I think the fits shifter is in a better position. Also, as a bigger guy(6'3" 300lbs) I found the fit to be more comfortable to drive. The civic may be sportier looking, and faster but the fit makes more sense to have as a daily driver. I actually prefer the fit's looks more than the civic, I think it has more personality.

They are both excellent choices, and they both get fairly comparable MPG. The Fit has "tighter" suspension, even in the non-Sport version, than the Civic. Also, more versatile cargo area, and simply a lot more cargo area, since it essentially a wagon. Both have fairly comparable passenger room, both hip room and leg room. The Civic may be a bit more comfortable, since it doesn't have quite as hard of suspension, and may be a bit quieter, since it is a sedan. That last sentence is mostly supposition, I haven't ridden in a Civic in some time, but most sedans tend to be quieter than wagons due to the isolation of the rear wheels in the trunk...so you really ought to test drive them both to see what you think...

Not sure if you can tow with the Civic, but I know it is forbidden for the Fit: towing any trailer, no matter how small, will void all warranties on the Fit.

Hope this helps!
