The 87 prelude had no option for an Limited Slip Differential (LSD). So you have what is called an open differential. What this means is that the differential will apply power to the point of least resistance. So in a nut shell, Yes your car spins only one wheel at a time, but depending on which one has less resistance, will dictate which one spins. Try this, safely and securely put your front end on jack stands and put it into gear. You should without much problem stop the wheel that is spinning. Once you do, you will notice the other wheel start to spin.
