Default 2007 Civic totaled! Need help.

I am the owner of a 2007 Honda Civic, and I really loved it, until around October 2009 I wrecked it without insurance. Don't get me wrong I know it was stupid to be driving without insurance, I only let it lapse about 6 weeks (trying to save money, and about to pick up new insurance) when I wrecked.

The car was messed up pretty good, I am trying to figure out where to get started fixing it. I can post pictures if anyone wants to help me figure out what to do.

The alignment seems to be fine and the car ran for a couple months after wrecking. The windshield was busted, the hood had to be tied down with a bungee. Now the car won't start, but there was no serious engine damage as far as I can notice. In fact I'd guess the engine is in excellent condition.

The problem is the bottom frame. There are 3 or so U bars (I think they're called U bars) that run from front to back that were cut in half by a metal bar rising out of a piece of cement. I knocked down and went over one of posts which holds the cables that run along sections of the interstate. You know, the ones that keep people from ending up in the median or on-coming traffic. The passanger side floorboord is ripped open so wide you could ride this car flinstones style. I'm sure if I hit a bump or ditch at a great enough speed, the cars bottom would fold down. The fuel lines and exhaust were cut in half, which I patched so that I could drive temporarily.

I still owe 6,000$ on this car (making my monthly payments) but haven't been able to drive it in over a year. My question is should I try to find a new body and put my engine in it, or should I try to have the frame stretched and mended? I don't know, I need suggestions and advice. Thanks for your time!

~Mike~
