Default How long would engines last if you pressurized the oil, before starting it?

I think there would be an increase but it would be minimal.

80% of an engines wear comes from warm up and only 20% wear when the engine is completely warmed up and running.

This has more to do with the expansion of the different metals inside the engine than it does lack of lubrication. Once the engine is up to operating temp, then the entire engine is running as designed and at optimal conditions for less wear.

The components inside the engine that need oil pressure ASAP, are usually the first to get it. And oil pressure builds up right at the point you turn the key to start the motor so it's a very small amount of time that the engine is spinning with little or no oil pressure.

It's a good idea and I know some companies used to sell pre-oiler kits just for this purpose, but on todays modern engines, it's just not needed.
