Default My vtec doesn't kick in hard:(?

When my friend had a 4 door integra when it hit vtec, It was incredible, his music would stop playing for a split second and then came that nice deep vtec purr. Now I got a 98 accord as my daily driver and Its like vtec doesn't exist. I sometimes feel it pulling at 4500 rpm. I checked my oil and it has a good amount.

Jonathon Monroe..... go mate with a banana and sh*t. What does engine performance have to do with cosmetic enthusiasts? piece o sh*t

His integra had a dohc b18 with nearly 200hp while your accord has a sohc f series motor making only 150hp at best. His vtec kicks because he has a far better engine.

You probably have one of the SOHC VTEC engines (F23A1).

There's really not much of a feeling from VTEC in the SOHC engines, and with the weight of an Accord your really not gonna feel it.

The Integra showed such a difference and feel because it was a DOHC VTEC motor.

It's just something you have to live with or get a different engine for you car or get a car already equipped with a DOHC VTEC engine.
