Default What is the USB port used for in the 2010 Honda Civic?

My mom's car came with one and we have no idea what it is used for, can anyone help me out? Please and thanks!

On the stereo? Read the manual, but if it's on the stereo, I bet it is so that you can play .MP3 files from a thumb drive.

Depends on which one you are talking about. If it is in a spot like the glove box, it is typically used for the technicians access the cars computer for troubleshooting or adjustments to the ECU (computer in the car). If it is on the radio face or in the center console, they can sometimes be used to interface a device like your cell phone or mp3 player. Or simply to charge a device. Check the owners manual.

You can plug in a flash drive or an iPod / MP3 player and play music directly through the car's stereo. You will also be able to pick songs and control everything with the car's integrated head unit, instead of fiddling with the MP3 player itself. This will give you better audio quality than using the auxiliary jack in the center console because it is a digital interface, similar to playing a CD.
