Default whats the difference between D4 and D3 in CRV?

i have a honda CRV automatic transmission whats the difference between selecting D4 or D3 in drive mode?

for everyday driving, just use D4. D4 gives you 4 gears whereas D3 only gives you 3. when driving around in D3, once you're cruising at a decent speed your car will remain in a higher RPM in 3rd gear. the ECU won't let your transmission upshift, and this will use more gas and put more stress on your engine. D3 is usually used for power when going up steep hills and/or towing a small trailer. for any other type of driving, just use D4.
