Default I own 92 civic Dx want to upgrade muffler to es will it be a big difference noise and hp ?

I want to upgrade just the muffler, to Es muffler 2.25 . Is it necessary to have to buy headers, reasonator etc.. I am not looking for performance just better sound and oem look to the exhaust.

Maybe 1-2HP but you will have to find a way to mount it 92 Civic exhauste is only 1.875. Get a header of Ebay $99, run it through a test pipe also availble on e-bay, then put that muffler on it. But if you want killer sound, go with a Bisimoto header $567 then put on a Skunk2 Pro Type R cat back system $550. Only problem with the Bisimoto is you will lose your power stearing and A/C

NEVER buy the cheap Ebay products. They are not quality products at all.

If you're swapping out the stock muffler for something a little wider you will not need headers, cats, or anything else. The muffler shop will handle the install and welding. You may notice a slight change in exhaust note by changing the muffler but don't expect anything deep sounding.

you can put a different muffler on you wouldn't have to buy all of that if you are just trying to get sound if your are going for performance then you shoul go from the header back

First tip I can give: I've never heard a good sounding Civic, ever. The only ones that sound good, are the ones you can't hear. However, if you do some research, I'd bet the DX and ES have the exact same muffler, so you won't gain anything.
