He might be able too depending on what engine he swapped in there? Haha. No way in hell that 4 cylinder could have anywhere close to enough output to take out a 6 cylinder, let alone, an 8 cylinder 2010 Camaro. Shoot he could have 50 # injectors and 20 #'s of boost he still wont do it.

Engine swap and he could maybe pull it off... That's alot of work though.

Let him take it on. Then when he loses miserably to it, he will know that he is not king sh*t after all.

the majority of Honda "tuners" are just typical ricers who don't understand cars, especially the one that they're driving. the Civic Si is Honda's bastard child, and every moron that saw The Fast and the Furious in high school is under the impression that these cars are faster than they actually are. in stock form, the new ones make roughly 200hp and have a 6-speed. they're fairly lightweight, have good handling, and are decent sportscars for their class. but they're in no way in the same class as a Camaro SS which has 2.5 times the horsepower. basically, most people driving Si's have likely never had the chance to drive a car with actual power. they're under the impression that these cars are genuinely fast, and it adds a sense of "power" to their intellect.

in a typical drag race, they're useless because they have no power and virtually no torque. however on a road course, these cars are damn good and are actually very quick. your average Camaro may have a lot of horsepower, but the suspension is as soft as a marshmallow and they're all heavy as hell. on a road course where several corners are present, most Camaros don't have the ability to retain their speed due to the fact that they handle like complete sh*t. with a slightly-tuned Civic, it's much easier to carry your speed through the corners to make up for the lack of acceleration. this is how Porsche used to beat Ferrari's @ss back in the 50's, and it's the same reason why I see Civics beating rednecks in pony cars at my local track on a weekly basis. it doesn't take a lot of skill to drive fast in a straight line, and most people that talk trash on Civics are usually people who need horsepower to make up for their lack of skill.

Yeah but...how many newmaro owners actually know how to drive? That's what I thought...maybe 10%. Si drivers at least have to know how to drive. You can't drive a close ratio car without at least being a decent driver. You really think 1.5 seconds of difference to 60 maybe 2 in quarter mile is huge when it comes to driving? Nah. A good driver can take a car that outclasses his car simply because he can drive.

You're saying a civic si couldn't paper race a new camaro ss and win? Sure. If you're saying real world? Have you actually seen the people driving these cars?

Most people who own a new car think its a race car. I live in a house consisting of me, my best friend, and his dad and we own 14 cars anything ranging from a 67 Camaro to a 63 impala to a 2000 Honda civic. The thing is to consider what is done to the car. I just engine swapped a Acura GSR motor into my civic and rebuilding the bottom end to run 20 psi of boost. All I am saying is everyone thinks that they are hot shit when they buy a new car they hear is fast or thought is fast. Those people are the people I see on the news who rolled there car 15 times because they thought they could corner a 90 degree turn going 80. Unless you built your car for speed or you why your car is fast other then the hp reading on the sticker when you buy it you truly don't understand what it is capable of.

Honda has good marketing. That really is the answer. I've driven my friends and didn't think it was too bad. Its quicker than your average car and handles good but it doesn't come close to most of the Rear Wheel drive sports cars. A 2010 camaro SS would beat a Civic Si pretty easy. The Si may be light but the Camaro still has a better power to weight ratio and doesn't lose time shifting every two seconds.

I think the civics are nippy and responsive. Better engineering. The camaro is on legarthic side.I dont think civics are fastest car on the road. It's just that someone with less horsepower is giving a big car a run for their money. I think that's where the kick comes in. Also you need tons of horsepower to go quick. Just shed unneccessary weight on the car.

Because they want to think that. I know for a fact I will gladly take on any new Camaro oon a road track, SCCA course or drag stip. Driver driver driver. a Civic done right can be on the 8's. Check out some of the Civics from EXOSPEED or Bisimoto. My civic with no turbo can run a 10sec 1/4 on street tires. Of course it only weighs 1835lbs. but it is still a 4cyl. My actual real drag car can run a 7.25 but is a V-8 and has a 12-71 blower. On a road course the Drag car wouldnt even make it throught the first corner before it slid off the course. For what is is the Civic Si is a capable car both on and off the track. With the right driver is is something to be reconed with both on the track and on the street. So if that is what your friend thinks let them. I thought my drag car was the shit until someone with a faster one beat me.
