Default I own a Honda Civic 1.8S AT. What rpm/speed does the automatic transmission change gears?

Does the same apply to paddle shift also? How does one drive to save petrol - in automatic or paddle shift? Does the torque converter lock up in all gears or only in 5th gear? Any other advise for bumper-to-bumper city driving?

First off at what rpm/speed the AT changes gears is dependent on how much throttle you give it. I would not use the paddle shift if you are trying to save fuel the car was designed to be fuel efficient just let it do its work. As far as bumper to bumper city driving, maintain a small gap between you and the car in front of you and if its going really slow don't even bother stepping on the gas just release the brake and let your car speed up at an idle.
