Go for the Honda. Better styling, performance and fuel economy. Not plagued with recalls

Civic is Ugly to the Corolla bland. Civic is like a spaceship inside, Corolla more like a baby luxury car. Civic drives sportier, Corolla more laid back. Both are slow. Honda is likely to be stolen and is the lust of every lame 16 year old boy who can't wait to add LED lights.

You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carquotes.sinfree.net

Many of Honda's Civic engine parts also work in their riding lawn mowers.

This is not true for Toyota's Corolla.

I have had both. First off, they are both very well refined little cars. The engines are both very reliable and easy to work on and Horsepower levels are similar so nothing to report on there. As far as transmissions goes, both the manuals are great no issues there. However, if your after an automatic, the Toyota Corolla is better hands down. The civic's auto transmission doesn't seem to hold together to well and starts shifting rough relatively early. Interiors are of similar quality. The civic has a little bit better stock speakers but nothing major. Finally, the biggest difference between this two cars is the ride and handling. The corolla rides smoother than the civic but the civic is a bit sportier feeling than the corolla, what you choose is personal preference, both cars handle decent. Really you just need to test drive both and form your own opinion though.
