Default 2004 Honda Accord door lock swith

My doors in my 2004 Accord stopped locking with the button on the door and the remote, the doors would unlock using either method but not lock. We replaced the accuator and the switch assembly. The doors will now lock and unlock using the switch but the remote does not work. I am thinking the remote is not communicating with the new switch because the trunk wont work with remote now either. How do I fix this communication problem?
