Default reprograming immobilizer on a 01 civic coupe ex

I recently purchased an 01 civic ex coupe that had been in an accident and had not ran for about 5 years. I finished the body work and I was trying to get it started but it won't start and the green key light flashes so the immobilizer is not recognizing the key; I'm guessing that from being without power so long it lost communication. Can anyone tell me how to reprogram it with the key so that I don't have to give a lot of my meager budget to the dealer?
Thanks a lot.
