Default Honda Racing: Honda Performance Development Announces 2011 WKA Dunlop Tire Road-Racing Karting Conti

Honda Performance Development (HPD) has released details of a new support program for competitors using the Honda CR125 engine package during the 2011 WKA Dunlop Tire Road Race series. HPD will be offering cash prizes to 1st- through 3rd-place finishers in approved classes and races


"We've been in active discussions with the WKA since the end of last year, and we are pleased that we can offer this program to their participants," said Marc Sours, HPD general manager. "As our program continues to grow, we hope to offer more products and services to the karting community."


To be eligible for support, all Honda competitors must be enrolled in the Honda Racing Line program and display the required "Honda Racing/HPD" and "H" decals on their race vehicles. Registration for the Honda Racing Line is available at http://racing.honda.com/hpd/race-for-honda/registration.aspx.


Administered by HPD and American Honda, these incentives will be distributed following the completion of the 2011 WKA Dunlop Tire Road Race championship.


Spec Honda classes eligible for contingency prizes will include:



  • Stock Honda 1

  • Stock Honda 2


HPD's payout structure will reward 1st- through 3rd-place finishers in the above-mentioned classes following the 2011 WKA Dunlop Tire Road Race championship, as follows:



  • 1st: $500

  • 2nd: $300

  • 3rd: $100


Launched in July 2009, the Honda Racing Line is a program targeted at licensed participants in sanctioned amateur and entry-level professional racing. The Honda Racing Line was formed to provide its members with a direct connection to Honda Performance Development and its unparalleled record of success at the highest levels of motorsport. Competitors may register for the Honda Racing Line through HondaRacingLine.com.


Honda Performance Development (HPD) is the Honda racing company within North America. Founded in 1993, and located in Santa Clarita, Calif., HPD is the technical operations center for high-performance Honda racing cars and engines. In addition to its grassroots motorsports support programs, HPD is the single engine supplier to the IndyCar Series and competes in prototype sports-car racing under the HPD banner in the American Le Mans and European Le Mans Series.
