I have a 91 honda accord lx, and the oil pressure light comes on
occasionally. The oil level in the car is fine. It comes on a random times, once right after starting, once after highway driving for 2 hours, and occasionally driving around town. If I turn off the car and turn it back on it goes away. It seems to happen more now that it is warmer out (it handly happened over the winter) I replaced the oil pressure sensor, but it still happens. Any ideas? Is this a real issue or just a anomoly? Thanks! |

Are you absolutely sure the contacts are connected properly at the sensor? Is the black rubber boot still on the connector? It might be best to cut the now-hardened boot off (carefully!) and simply plug the bare contacts onto the sensor individually, and make sure they're not loose. -- Tegger The Unofficial Honda/Acura FAQ www.tegger.com/hondafaq/ |

Mobil 1 full syntheic oil (I've been using this for about 3-4 years) just changed with oem filter. It happen before and after changing 200000miles on engine/car Climate is pacific norhtwest. nothing special related to this or the history of the car. Always had regular oil changes. How do you check the eletrical for this. I'm pretty sure I have the sensor plugged in right, but I'll check. It happened before I changed the sensor also. I haven't had eletrical problems but I'll try to look for a ground short. We are pretty conservative drivers. If it was the oil pump, would it be so random like that. I would have expected that to be more consistant. |
