Bought this car a few months back, have replaced Ox Sensor in back of
radiator, plugs, dist cap and rotor, plug wires and fuel filter on
firewall. The problem is it will hesitate, like its not getting enough
fuel, will sometimes backfire, usually happens around 2000 rpm. Pushing
accelarator doesnt increase speed untill it shifts down and then speeds
up and runs fine without a problem. 192K on odo. Had it to dealer and
they replaced cat converter, no help. Any ideas? Also 420 code check
engine light.

Replace the 420.

Perhaps you be so kind as to report what the **** a 420 code is?

Have your dealer look up TSB 05-027. You probably have the "bad igniter
connections" problem outlined in that TSB.

There is also a Safety Recall out on your car for the throttle cable, item
# 99I002000. Might not be causing this problem, but it's worth checking to
see if this has been addressed.

Presumably he means "P0420". A surprising number of people think the first
letter and the first number don't mean anything.
