Can anyone help with advice on the best way to connect power to
footwell lights. I have considered using power from the cigarette lighter or the glove box lamp - but if anyone has experience of the easiest way to connect - I would like to know. I think I would like to aviod removing the centre console - but if that has to be done I have found a site which will show me how to do that. Any help would be appreciated. |

That should work, except some lighters remain powered. So maybe the
ignition switch? I guess some alarms tap into it? Properly fused of course. You may still be able to Google Fujitsu-Ten faxback and get detailed fax-back on factory (toyota) alarm installation instructions. Would be good reading. Use something like: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=96230 If you use low wattage LEDs then it may be OK. I had thought about rigging an ambience lighting system (foot wells, ceiling to center console, inside door handle area, under front seats, etc) and I suppose most don't need bright LEDs for that. (There are legal limits to the number and types of external lighting in many states.) The power is already in the vicinity, why don't you go to an online Honda
parts store, see if they sell the factory kit and see if they have the instructions available as a .pdf, that will tell you where to look. <Dadq@writing.com> wrote in message news:fd6572cc-9426-4ebb-b78b-a66d99eadd42@l33g2000pri.googlegroups.com... > Can anyone help with advice on the best way to connect power to > footwell lights. (There are legal limits >to the number and types of external lighting in many states.) Many states prohibit any external lights beyond the usual suspects. The "standard" is no more than four lights at any time on the front. It took an act of Congress (not really, but it felt that way) to allow the HID lights, since they weren't "white". Not that the existing lights were, but some pedantic types objected. > > > >On Jan 17, 3:17*am, D...@writing.com wrote: > >> Can anyone help with advice on the best way to connect power to >> footwell lights.
