Default 2008-09 Canadian Civic safety recall

"A small number of Honda's latest Civic model are being recalled because
a fuel hose connector is missing a nut. Safety officials are concerned that
if the car was in an accident the force might be enough to separate the
hose and connector, allowing gasoline to escape. Dealers will install the
missing nut on the 2008-09 models of the popular car."

I don't know. I got the above info from a newspaper. Since it's a safety
recall, every Canadian Honda dealer should have info on it. Give a dealer
a call.

I hope they're better than American Honda. I received my notification
about the CRX seatbelt recall (remember when the Japanese maker
claimed it was because Americans dropped their fries into the
release?) about six months after it hit the paper. And the Civic
recall about sliding driver's side floormats almost a year later.

Canada had the same recall. I guess Canadians are equally enamored of
French fries.

The maker was Takata. Honda at the time had at least two suppliers for
restraints, and mine were made by somebody else not subject to the recall.

And just as a cheesy aside (re Canada)... there is nothing like old
poutine to gum up the works.

I had poutine once. I thought it was gross. Looked like vomit.
