Default 01' Accord EX 4-cyl Automatic Overheats...Help

Really shoots up quick when A/C is on and car not moving. Both fans do
operate. If I swtich to heat...the temp gauge will start to drop
slowly (car not moving). Thermostat ? Car has 79,000 miles.

1. check the coolant level inside the radiator - looking at the
expansion bottle is insufficient.
2. check for bubbling in the coolant bottle with the motor running.
3. if it was full and there was no bubbling, replace the thermostat and
gasket with new honda oem components.
4. report back.

Just to be sure, is the new thermostat OEM? That is very important.

Well get that Mexican made part out of there because problems can and will
arise with aftermarket thermostats. Bite the bullet and get an OEM part.

Ouch!

I find OEM thermostats costs not much more but much better built than
any aftermarket ones I've ever seen.
