I have a Honda factory installed single-disc CD player in my 1994 Accord EX,
and just recently I've noticed that there is very little sound output from it. If I crank up the volume, I can hear the music, but barely. This seems strange because the CD player plugs into the back of the AM/FM/Cassette unit via a DIN connector, and I thought that the amplification for it was the same circuit as for the radio and tape. But I can hear the radio just fine as usual. I checked the units at the back, and the connectors are seated in just fine. I'm wondering if: - the CD player has its own preamp circuit which has gone bad - the cable/connector from the CD player to the back of the head unit has a bad wire connection in it - an input circuit in the head unit where the CD player plugs in has gone bad Bottom line, I'm wondering if this is something that won't be worth reparing, or could it be something that requires an inexpensive part that I could replace. Any ideas? Thanks, Greg |
